Alain B. Burrese

Alain was born in Helena, Montana, and lived in Montana, California, and North Dakota before his father retired from the U.S. Air Force and moved to Thompson Falls, Montana. After Graduating from Thompson Falls High School in 1985, Alain served four years with the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a Sniper Instructor with the 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea.

Alain received his B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in management in 1994 from the University of Montana with High Honors and as a University Scholar by completing the Davidson Honors College requirements. He also served as President of several student organizations and was the first student to lead student led seminars for the Davidson Honors College with his class Strategies for Success. He then lived in Japan and Korea teaching English while continuing his study of martial arts and learning about the culture and languages of Asian countries. He returned to Montana and graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 2001.

After Law School, Alain directed the University of Montana's Center for Leadership Development for a year. He then held the position of a Claims Attorney with Attorney's Liability Protection Society (ALPS) before joining the Bennett Law Office.

Alain is a mediator and provides mediation services for litigated and non-litigated disputes. His training includes Alternative Dispute Resolution and Negotiation training through the University of Montana School of Law, and Mediation training at the Straus Institute For Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law. Alain has been appointed to serve on the Dispute Resolution Committee of the State Bar and also volunteers as a mediator for the Community Dispute Resolution Center of Missoula County. He is a member of the American Bar Association and belongs to the Dispute Resolution Section. In addition to mediating, Alain practices in the areas of Business/Commercial law, International/Immigration matters, and Real Estate.

Alain is the author of one book, numerous magazine articles and two instructional videos, with more of each on the way. He is a graduate of Leadership Missoula 22, and a Chair of the Leadership Missoula 23 Government and Politics Day. He is also a former Club President, Area Governor, and active member of Toastmasters International, and speaks on various topics.

Alain and his wife Yi-saeng have one daughter, Cosette. Alain enjoys spending time with his family, travel, reading, exercise, writing, speaking, and teaching martial arts.
