Can I speak to an attorney?
Our office has three licensed attorneys that can help you with this process. You may speak with them at anytime. We also have a fully staffed office that can help you with questions regarding establishing and maintaining your LLC.
How do I get my license plates?
Upon receiving the necessary title work for you vehicle, Bennett Law Office will go and get your plates and registration for your vehicle and send them to you. This process can be done in as little as a few business days. Bennett Law will also handle your re-registration of the vehicles by notifying you when they come due.
How many vehicles can I put into my company?
You are able to put as many vehicles as you want in your LLC. Your initial fees with our office cover the first two vehicles you register in the LLC. After your initial two vehicles, there will be a one-time fee per vehicle to add it into your LLC.
Why is registering in Montana better for me?
Montana has no sales tax or personal property tax on vehicles. The potential savings on purchasing a vehicle can be significant when purchasing under a Montana LLC. Also the annual registration fees for vehicle are generally less expensive than in other states.
How long will it take to set up my holding company?
After receiving our informational packet and speaking with one of our attorneys, Bennett Law can have your LLC established and articles back from the Secretary of State within three business days. Also, upon receiving the necessary title work, Bennett Law Office can get license plates back to you within a couple of days.
Can I do this if I have already made my purchase?
If you have already purchased the vehicle it is still possible to register it in Montana under a LLC. You would need to just speak with one of our attorneys, set up the LLC, and send the title work to our office. If you have financed the purchase of the vehicle, then it will be necessary that you call your lender and get written permission to allow the vehicle to be registered in Montana under your LLC. Bennett Law Office PC can provide any necessary paperwork on the LLC that the lender might request.
Do I need to get a Montana Driver’s License?
You do not need to get a Montana Driver’s License. Your vehicle will be owned by the Montana LLC, and through the LLC legal documents, you are able to drive the vehicle with a driver’s license from another state.
